Brokered online Advertisements

I run several websites, that are financed by advertising. Sometimes people ask me or complain about specific adverts. Like "Please remove the annoying red one that is constantly flashing".

Problem is: I probably never saw this ad and will probably never see it.

Todays advertising market works like this:

The owner of the website rents some space on his website to an advertising company like Google, Valueclick or alike. Everytime, someone views a page the advertising company decides what to display on this space. They choose from tens of thousands of adverts. Based on the time, where you are located, what browser you use and a lot of other parameters. Often the advertising company chooses to not display one of their advertisments, but to rent the space to another advertising company. That company again will choose from tens or hundreds of thousands of ads based on a lot of parameters.

So if you want to bring some advertising to my attention, its best to describe it very detailed. What is advertised and why it is annoying. Or even send me a sreenshot. Then I might be able to figure out, what ad it is and where it comes from.
